Roadtrippin' US of A 2008

Cabin crew arm slides, popcorn shrimps
June 20, 2008 - Location: Thorofare, NJ
One word: jetlag, maybe that’s two, I have no idea right now. One more word: tired. After three servings of crappy airline food we decided to get a real american meal, a cheeseburger. And as a starter we had something I’ve never tasted before, popcorn shrimps, if you have the chance to try that out do it. But before all this we had the opportunity to drive around Newark Intl. Airport two (or was it three?) times, I love the wonderful world of GPS. The plan for tomorrow will be to head up to Philly (In west Philadelphia born and raised…) and then down to Washington D.C. We’re starting with small distances early in the roadtrippin’, gotta take it slow our body tells us. Oh and here is a picture of a cloud, enjoy.

Chlora, it’s a party in your mouth
June 21, 2008 - Location: Washington, D.C.
After a quick (and weird) stop in Philadelphia, we set course for Washington D.C. Before getting to Baltimore we had to waste one hour in some pretty heavy rush traffic (I’ll never ever complain about heavy traffic back home ever again). People were driving on the shoulder of the highway to get further down the road than anyone else, I’m still amazed that no one got to be fender bender buddies. Now I’m sitting in a hotell room just a couple of miles away from the house that is white, still having the awful taste of Chlora (Cola extract with chlorinated water) in my mouth, still tired, not yet adjusted to the idea that the time is something that the time shouldn’t be. Took some pictures from our walk in the park with all the memorials, you can look at them while I try to stay awake before going to bed. Oh, and tomorrow is going to be a long drive, looking forward to get down to the southern states. I just hope they don’t shoot me.

Severe thunderstorms and HUGE hail, NOT!
June 22, 2008 - Location: Lexington, KY
Long drive today, 529mi/850km, and now we’re located in the horse capitol of the world (I kid you not), Lexington. Bob Evans has got a chain of restaurants, and we got the opportunity to try one out in the middle of nowhere in West Virginia. Their exquisite cuisine is an exciting cross between rubberbands and recycled paper with a hint of toiletwater, my stomach feels violated and my bank account wants its money back. Bob Evans, just stop.

On the radio today they promised severe thunderstorms and hail as big as golfballs, all we got was rain, I feel cheated, I blame Bob Evans.
